Regarding to my topic some months ago I recognized the following situation. As default the files of program (AM Notebook) and also the data (Notes) are stored on a network drive. When an alarm window opens - because an alarm has been triggered - the time beginning at confirmation (OK Button) up to the end (window disappears again) is quite long - app. 10-15 secs Exclamation

If I do the installation of the program files on my C-Drive (the notes remain on the network drive) the time of disappearance of the alarm window is max 1 sec Exclamation

When I open a note - which is stored on the network drive - it is really fast - no delays... when the alarms are stored on the same network drive - it requires a long time as described above.
Do you have any reason for this Question

Ouch, that's really quite long.

And that is really strange that there is such a time difference.

At the moment I have no idea why this happens.

How large are your *.XML files in the configuration folder?

And how long does it take when you call "File + Save all". Do you also see such a difference here?

No - there is no time difference. Thats quite fast - < 1sec.

But I have maybe some other infos that could help you.
Arrow I am using the portable version
Arrow Normally when an alarm will pop up - before the alarm sound will be played (the pop up has a delay of app. 4 secs - after the sound!). So, its not only the confirmation (OK-Button) - there is also a delay with the pop up of the alarm window itself
Arrow When I want to close the alarm window with the value "0" for the reminder - there is NO delay in disappearing of the window!!
Its only if I take a value >0 for the reminder.
Arrow The same behaviour could be recognized if I install "AM Notebook" to my USB Stick. The notes are still on the network drive. So, when the software is on my USB drive I have also long delays with the alarm window - all other is quite fast..

I'm unfortunately not able to reproduce this here, also the 4 seconds between sound and displaying the window are way too much.

OK, I need more information here to figure out what could cause this problem.
Please follow these steps:

1) Download this tool: http://www.aignes.com/download/madtraceprocess.zip
2) Start it, select "notebook.exe", then click OK when Notebook "hangs".
3) Then send me the resulting report by e-mail

Repeat this step 2 or 3 times. Probably I can see what AM-Notebook is doing in these 15 seconds.
