Hello,

I have a full account from website watcher and I want to check a website for a specific text with macro recorder. For example I want to search for the text N90 Nokia on the website www.marktplaats.nl in the search engine but website watcher does not work here.

Please can you anybody advice?

greetings Wouter

What does not work exactly?

I have tried it and used the field in the top/right corner to start a search. And it seems that everything worked.

Could you probably send me the bookmark/macro by email:
Right click bookmark --> Info --> Support-Info --> Send Bookmark with EMail

Hello,

Sorry but I did'nt come so far. When I type in on the general tap of the macro: www.marktplaats.nl and I use

1) internal technology / record DYNAMIC value
2) internet explorer / record DYNAMIC value
3) internal technology / Record static values for url and postdata
4) internet explorer / Record static values for url and postdata

I will not come so far that I can click on a link for example "Telecommunicatie" then Nokia and then type the search text N70

Website watcher will stop working and I will not come so far.

I also used the search tab on top of marktplaats in the right corner as you mentioned but that does also not work with search terms.

Please can you discribe to me how you did that?

Thanks!

Ah, I didn't know you click on links before you start a search, you only mentioned that you search for N90. I have entered this term on the first page (www.marktplaats.nl) and it worked well.

But probably you should post your exact steps (clicked links and entered search terms), then I can try to reproduce the problem...

1.Wel first I start to up a new Boomark

2.Then I press the button CHECK MACRO

3.AT START I fill in: www.marktplaats.nl

4.Then I use one of the following options (it doesn't mather which I use for this problem)

A) internal technology / record DYNAMIC value
B) internet explorer / record DYNAMIC value
C) internal technology / Record static values for url and postdata
D) internet explorer / Record static values for url and postdata

5.Then I press GET

If Website watcher will show the start screen of www.marktplaats.nl I press in the left bar "Computer Hardware"

6.Then I get a pop-up and I will press GET

7.Then I will search for the text "Notebooks en Laptops" and press this link

8.After the pop-up I press GET

Sometimes website watcher will come not any further than this will stock and undermentioned text will show and will be displayed:

cmd> GET /computer_hardware/notebooks_en_laptops/c339.html HTTP/1.0

Which version of WSW do you use?

I have now tried to reproduce these steps several times, and it always worked without any problems.
Do you use a local proxy or a firewall which could probably block WSW sometimes?

What do you mean exactly here? Is WebSite-Watcher no longer responsible? Or is the page not loaded and you can still check other pages?

Can you try if these two URLs (without a macro) work?

http://www.marktplaats.nl/computer_hardware/notebooks_en_laptops/c339.html

http://www.marktplaats.nl/computer_hardware/notebooks_en_laptops/c339.html?tb=of&xl=1&ds=kw%3A%3Bto%3A1%3Bl1%3A322%3Bl2%3A339%3Blt%3Azip%3Blx%3A127409%3Bly%3A476621%3Bdi%3A50000%3Bosi%3A2

Probably you don't need a macro for that page.

Hello,

I use version 4.06 of Website watcher

I do not have any firewall or proxy that will block Website watcher.

I did follow bolth of your links and they bolth work fine than. It is correct that I don not have to use a maco if I have that link once.

I do not understand why website watcher will not work at my place.

How did you create/copied that link:
http://www.marktplaats.nl/computer_hardware/notebooks_en_laptops/c339.html?tb=of&xl=1&ds=kw%3A%3Bto%3A1%3Bl1%3A322%3Bl2%3A339%3Blt%3Azip%3Blx%3A127409%3Bly%3A476621%3Bdi%3A50000%3Bosi%3A2
???

Maybe you can look with me on my computer with win XP assistance with ditance from Win XP?

I would like to make it work because it will me cost very much time to do it manually each time and I am affraid for getting back RSI. That's why I use this tool so much in the past.

Thansk for your answer in this mather!

???

This page has frames (technically said, more pages within one view), so you don't see this address in the URL field of your browser. The URL filed contains only the address of the frameset which defines the single frames.

There are two ways how you can get this address:

1) Right click the frame (somewhere in the content of the page), then select properties from the context menu. Then you will get a dialog which contains this address (you can select this address, and copy it to your clipboard via the context menu).

2) If you have Internet-Explorer-Integration enabled, then right click the frame (as above) and select "Add to WebSite-Watcher" in the context menu. This will add a bookmark with the address of the right clicked frame/page.

BTW, I had now the same problem that the server stops responding and WSW cannot download the page. The only way to fix this behavior is to use the check technology "Internet Explorer/Browser":

1. Open the bookmark properties
2. Select the Advanced tab
3. Select Check(1) on the left side
4. Select the check technology "Internet Explorer / Browser"
