Martin,
one of my client told me that a webmaster warned him because he detected that he was using a monitoring tool.
Is it because WSW "give" such informations to log analysis tools, like "I am WSW" ?
I thought that WSW was identified as a browser : Internet Explorer or for me Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1). Such information we find in Option > Program configuration > User agent Advanced > Indetify as
Or is it because of the crawling pattern (plenty of pages crawled in a small time interval) ?
Or anything else ?
Thanks

By default, WSW is identified as Internet Explorer, but probably there are some small differences that can be used to detect a monitoring tool. Probably also the amount of checks from a certain IP within a small time interval.
If you create and check a bookmark with the URL http://whatsmyuseragent.com/ you can see which user agent is used by WSW. _________________ Martin Aignesberger [SUPPORT] |
