Highlight changed images in a page

WebSite-Watcher can optionally draw borders around changed images.

How are changed images detected?

Whether WebSite-Watcher can draw a border around changed images depends on the image configuration. WebSite-Watcher supports three different configurations to download and display images:

Download images (recommended)
If an update is detected, WebSite-Watcher downloads all images to your hard disk. With this option, WebSite-Watcher compares the image content to determine whether an image has changed. This is the most reliable method for highlighting changed images with borders.
Display online images (not recommended)
With this setting, WebSite-Watcher downloads only the web page. Images are loaded from the server when you open the page in your browser. In this mode, WebSite-Watcher uses the image file name to detect new or changed images.
Display gray boxes instead of images (not supported)
This is the fastest method for checking and opening pages, but images are replaced by gray boxes. With this option, changed images cannot be highlighted.

Please note that a web page is marked as updated only when a text change is detected, and not when only an image has changed.

Monitor single image directly

If you want to monitor a specific image, enter the image address in the URL field of a Bookmark.

1.. Open the Bookmark properties.
2. Select the "Advanced" tab.
3. Select "Images" on the left side.
4. Enable the option "Download images".
5. Select "Highlight changes" on the left side.
6. Enable the option "Highlight images".
