WebSite-Watcher includes an integrated download manager that can be used to automatically download RSS feed enclosures. Supported download protocols are HTTP and HTTPS.

How to Download Files

  1. Download RSS feed enclosures
RSS feed enclosures can be downloaded automatically when an RSS feed changes. This option can be enabled in the bookmark properties in the "Advanced" section.  By default, WebSite-Watcher downloads mp3 and wav files. These file extensions can be changed or extended in the program configuration in the "Advanced" section.

  2. Add a URL manually
A download URL can also be added manually by starting the download manager and clicking the "Add Download" button. In WebSite-Watcher, open the download manager via the "Tools" menu.

  3. Download within Plugins
The Plugin system supports the command AddToDownloadManager to add a download URL to the download manager. This allows you to extract a specific URL from a page and download it using the download manager.

Where Are Downloaded Files Stored?

By default, WebSite-Watcher saves downloaded files to the following folder:

c:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\aignes\WebSite-Watcher\config\downloads\

Automatically Delete Files After X Days

The download manager keeps downloaded files for a predefined number of days. After that period, the files are automatically removed from the list and deleted from your hard disk. Right-click a file, or a selection of files, to copy or move the selected files to another folder.

You can also automatically copy downloaded files to another location based on configured rules. Configure these rules in the Download Manager settings.

Downloaded files are deleted only from the default download folder. If files were copied or moved to another location, either manually or automatically using the "Copy To" feature, those copies remain unchanged.
