Main Menu
File
The File menu contains all commands for creating, opening, and maintaining Bookmark databases.
A Bookmark database uses the file extension *.wsw and contains all folders, Bookmarks, and configuration settings. Cache files are stored in the related *_WSW folder.
The menu item Database contains commands to maintain, optimize, or repair a database. Run these commands only if you experience problems with your database, such as crashes or performance issues.
If your database is damaged, running the command Repair database attempts to restore as much data as possible. If you have a working and up-to-date backup file, restore that backup instead.
As an additional option to repair a damaged database, you can use Re-create database from cache folder. This command rebuilds the entire database from the files available in the Cache folder. Use this command only as a last resort if the command "Repair database" fails and no working, up-to-date backup file is available.
Bookmarks
The Bookmarks menu contains all commands for managing Bookmarks.
The commands "Find" and "Find next" allow you to search for text in all Bookmark configurations within the selected folder. To search for text in checked web pages, use the Advanced Search feature.
The command "Replace" allows you to modify text within selected Bookmark configurations.
Check
The Check menu contains all commands to check web pages.
The command Check HotSites selects and checks all Bookmarks in the "HotSites" folder.
The command Check selected bookmarks (extended) provides additional options to define which Bookmarks are checked. For example, you can ignore configured time settings.
Tools
The Tools menu contains several helper tools. For example, you can import or export Bookmarks in various formats, synchronize databases via Cloud-Sync, and search for text in monitored web pages.
Script
WebSite-Watcher includes a simple internal scripting language that allows you to automate tasks and user interactions.
For example, you can check Bookmarks, send a generated Report by email, and repeat the entire procedure after a specified time interval.
Options
The Options menu contains all WebSite-Watcher settings and configuration options.
View
The View menu contains commands to show or hide main window elements, Bookmark statistics, log files, and other interface components.
Help
The Help menu provides access to help topics and the About dialog.
