If a page contains content that cannot be monitored with the available options, for example content displayed using Java, you can use the feature "Check by screenshot".


This checking method opens the page in a hidden browser window, creates a screenshot, and saves it as a PNG file. The saved screenshot is then used to detect updates. WebSite-Watcher can also highlight changes in the saved screenshot.

You can optionally define a custom window size and specify the region that you want to capture.


Many features do not work with this method, for example the keyword feature. However, this method provides an additional way to monitor content that cannot be checked by other technologies.


Steps:
1.  Open the Bookmark properties.
2.  Select the tab "Check".
3.  Select the technology "Screenshot".
