Ways to pre-define Bookmark properties

1.  Globally in program configuration

Settings for new Bookmarks can be pre-defined globally in the program configuration. These pre-definitions apply to all databases and are assigned when you create new Bookmarks.

Steps:
1.  Click "Options" in the main menu.
2.  Select "Program configuration".
3.  Select the "Bookmarks" tab.
4.  Click the "Assign bookmark properties" button.
5.  Enter the properties to be pre-defined for new Bookmarks.

2.  Per folder

You can also pre-define Bookmark properties for new or existing Bookmarks per folder. These pre-defined properties are stored per Bookmark database.

Steps:
1.  Right-click a folder.
2.  Select "Properties".
3.  Select the "Assign bookmark properties" tab.
4.  Define when and which Bookmark properties should be assigned.

3.  Rule based for certain URLs

A third method uses a rule-based system that allows you to pre-define properties for Bookmarks with specific URLs. For example, you can use the checking method "Browser: Chromium" for all URLs with the domain "aignes.com". These pre-defined properties are stored per Bookmark database and can be assigned to new or existing Bookmarks.

Define these rules as precisely as possible. If a matching pre-definition is found and the option "Continue processing with other pre-definitions" is disabled, no additional rules are applied to the Bookmark. Otherwise, multiple pre-definitions can be assigned to a single Bookmark.

Steps:
1.  Click "Options" in the main menu.
2.  Select "Global bookmark pre-predefinitions".
3.  Enter the rules and the properties for new or existing Bookmarks.

Order in which pre-defined Bookmark properties are assigned

1. Pre-definitions from the program configuration, new Bookmarks only.
2. Pre-definitions from folder properties.
3. Rule-based pre-definitions from "Global bookmark pre-predefinitions" in the Options menu.
   Define these rules as precisely as possible. If a matching pre-definition is found and the option "Continue processing with other pre-definitions" is disabled, no additional rules are applied to the Bookmark. Otherwise, multiple pre-definitions can be assigned to a single Bookmark.

If pre-definitions are available in steps 1, 2, and 3, they are all applied. Properties from step 2 override properties from step 1, and properties from step 3 override properties from steps 1 and 2.
